An exclusive interview with Heather Mitchell
Continuing our 14-year sponsorship of the Sydney Theatre Company, we were delighted to be the presenting partner for the national production of RBG: Of Many, One to Australian audiences earlier this year, sharing the story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The second woman to be appointed to the US Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a trailblazer in the American judiciary and an advocate for gender equality and reproductive rights. Australian playwright Suzie Miller brought her story to life in a production highlighting Ginsburg’s wins and dissents, notable accomplishments and setbacks—both personal and professional.
As national presenting partners, we provided clients with an opportunity to engage with the production team at pre-show cocktail events held around the country, where a production team member welcomed us and provided insights into the show's inner workings.
Actress Heather Mitchell, who brings Ruth to the stage, also joined us for a behind-the-scenes discussion about her preparation for the role, her approach to portraying such an iconic figure and the production's intense schedule.
Heather spoke about how she creates the essence of the characters she portrays, including their voices and mannerisms. She also shared insights from Suzie on why she chose to write the play and the aspects of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life and career that it explores.
