Allens has been named the Australian Law Firm of the Year by international legal directory Chambers.
The award was announced in Hong Kong this week at the launch of the Chambers Asia Pacific 2014 guide.
Chambers also ranked 14 of the firm's Australian practices as Band 1, while a further nine Allens practices were ranked as Band 1 in Asia and Global, including practices in Indonesia, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Mongolia, Myanmar and Cambodia.
The firm's Projects & Energy practice was ranked as Band 1 globally for its mining and minerals work.
In announcing Allens as the Australian Law Firm of the Year, Chambers said that the firm maintained its top-flight reputation in the finance and corporate arenas and that the firm 'acts for leading clients and attracts mandates that require multi-disciplinary teams with expertise across all the major sectors'.
Allens Executive Partner – Practice, Maryjane Crabtree, said the firm was proud to be recognised for its work over the past 12 months.
'This is an important award that reflects the quality of work we do for our clients on significant, market-leading transactions and matters across a range of practice areas,' said Ms Crabtree.
'We are particularly pleased to be once again recognised for our work not only in Australia and Asia, but globally, both in developed countries and in emerging economies.'
