International law firm Allens has promoted three of its rising stars to partnership of the firm.
The new partners – Linh Bui from Ho Chi Minh City, Peter Haig from Melbourne, and Kate Towey from Sydney – reflect the firm's commitment to nurturing talent in areas of strategic relevance and importance to clients.
'Our new partners are leaders who reflect our knowledge and understanding of emerging markets and issues for clients,' said Allens Chairman Ian Wallace.
Linh Bui works in Vietnam, one of the fastest growing economies in the Asia Pacific region, and advises companies with foreign investment interests, particularly clients in the areas of food and beverage and oil and gas.
Peter Haig, who specialises in class actions, regulatory investigations, arbitration and international business obligations, works closely with clients to respond to regulatory investigations and the increasingly sophisticated wave of class actions that are becoming a feature of the Australian legal landscape.
Kate Towey works on major M&A and equity capital markets transactions across a range of sectors, and in particular has recently advised on major transactions in the REIT sector and in reconstructions and distressed M&A scenarios.
'As a multitude of emerging issues arise for clients, and as they navigate new investments, sectors and countries, we have new leaders to help them along the way. This is a response to our clients' needs and part of our determination to help our clients in areas that are key to them,' added Mr Wallace.
The latest appointments are in addition to the lateral hire of Partner Michelle Levy, who joins Allens in June from King & Wood Mallesons.
Michelle has market-leading regulatory expertise in superannuation, wealth management, life insurance and other associated financial services.
