Allens has acted for the syndicate lenders in connection with the refinance and restructure of ASX-listed Growthpoint Properties' A$925 million syndicated bank debt facilities.
The deal was led by Allens' banking and finance specialists Warwick Newell (Partner) and Lisa Zhou (Senior Associate) and showcased the firm's property finance expertise. The matter involved the refinancing of existing bank debt in parallel with the restructure of existing facility documents and securities across multiple jurisdictions.
Warwick Newell said that the deal represents one of a select number of significant domestic transactions in the property finance sector this year. It affirms the trend of domestic borrowers refinancing their bank debt and restructuring their debt platforms in a competitive pricing market, Mr Newell said.
Allens has previously acted for the lenders to Growthpoint in successfully closing a number of transactions, including Growthpoint's acquisition of the Rabinov Property Trust and the more recent acquisition of the NSW Police Headquarters in Parramatta for approximately A$241.1 million.
