Allens appoints infrastructure partner in Queensland

Allens has appointed infrastructure specialist Nicholas Ng as a partner in the firm's Brisbane office.

Mr Ng has been involved in some of the most significant infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand, including the sale of Queensland Motorways, the refinancing of the Sydney Desalination Plant, the Legacy Way tunnel, the Forrestfield Airport Link Project and the Wiri Men's Prison Project in New Zealand.

He is working on major Public Private Partnership projects in New South Wales and New Zealand and is part of the Allens team involved in opportunities stemming from state asset recycling programs.

In Queensland, Mr Ng has worked on a number of recent major infrastructure projects in Queensland, including the Government Wireless Network project and the New Generation Rolling Stock project. He is also advising the State in relation to the long term lease of SunWater's Industrial Pipeline business, as part of the proposed asset transaction program outlined in the Strongest and Smartest Choice campaign.

Mr Ng will begin as a partner on 1 November.

Queensland Practice Director Erin Feros said that Mr Ng's appointment was recognition of the importance of the firm's infrastructure practice, particularly in Queensland.

'Nicholas will play a vital role in both Queensland and national projects.'

Ms Feros said that Mr Ng was part of a group of talented young partners who have been appointed in the Brisbane office over the past five years.

She said Mr Ng is the first Managing Associate to be appointed a partner of the firm under the firm's new career path, implemented this year.

'Allens aims to reward talent and Nicholas's appointment to partnership is another sign of the firm's ability to do so.'
