Allens has been awarded the title of Vietnam Law Firm of the Year for 2015 by leading international legal directory Chambers Global.
The award was announced at a ceremony in Hong Kong last night.
The past 12 months has seen the firm involved in many of the most significant projects in Vietnam. These have included the $9 billion Nghi Son petroleum refinery project, the largest foreign investment project ever implemented in Vietnam and one of the largest in South East Asia, and advising the sponsors on the Vung Ang II 1200MW thermal power plant.
Speaking after the award ceremony, Allens' Ho Chi Minh City-based Partner Robert Fish said the firm was very pleased to be recognised for its market-leading work.
'This is wonderful recognition of the outstanding work performed for our clients by our teams in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City,' Mr Fish said.
'Our Vietnam practice is well known for working on the largest and most complex projects in the country, particularly major resources, power and infrastructure projects and we have advised on most of the "mega" projects in Vietnam.
'Our team is also highly regarded for their advice to foreign investors on their investments and operations in Vietnam, whether making strategic investments, entering into joint ventures, acquiring Vietnamese businesses or establishing their own greenfield presence here.'
