Call for social impact startups to accelerate at inaugural bootcamp

Allens is calling on startups engaged in social innovation or Indigenous entrepreneurship to nominate for its inaugural Social Innovation Startup Bootcamp.

Designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by social innovation startups, the free half-day event will feature a startup essentials masterclass, panel discussion, pitching workshop and networking lunch.

Seven enterprises will also have the opportunity to pitch to the panel and receive feedback and guidance from our expert panellists.

Among the panellists will be Amanda Goodman, portfolio manager at Impact Investment Group, and Matthew Tukaki, CEO and editor in chief of EntreHub. The panel will be moderated by Valeska Bloch, co-head of Allens Accelerate.

'We know that startups in social innovation and Indigenous entrepreneurship face challenges and opportunities that are distinct from their peers in other sectors,' said Valeska Bloch, co-head of Allens Accelerate.

'While legal issues are often the last thing people want to focus on when they're in the early stages of their startup venture, they can make the difference between success and failure."

Allens Accelerate is a market-leading legal practice that supports the Australian startup community with a range of free and cost-effective legal documentation, advice and policy commentary.
