Allens has advised Tilt Renewables on the development of the 55 megawatt Salt Creek Wind Farm near Woorndoo, around 250 kilometres west of Melbourne.
The project is the first greenfield development under the Tilt Renewables banner. It will be developed on a merchant basis and funded through Tilt Renewables' existing corporate debt facilities.
'We are very pleased to have assisted the Tilt Renewables team with this significant development, which is expected to generate enough electricity each year to power 30,000 homes,' said David Donnelly, lead partner on the deal.
The deal caps off a busy year for the Allens renewables practice.
'In Victoria alone, we've advised on the development of the Mt Gellibrand wind farm, on Pacific Hydro's global funding platform (which includes Portland and Challicum Hills), on Goldwind's purchase of Stockyard Hill and on an innovative portfolio financing that will fund the Gannawarra Solar Farm over the last few months,' David said.
