Allens has appointed leading planning and environment lawyers, Felicity Rourke and Jillian Button as partners in its national Environment and Planning team.
'We are delighted to be welcoming them both. They bring complementary skills to the existing Environment and Planning team and will be very valuable additions,' said Managing Partner, Richard Spurio.
Felicity Rourke has a market-leading reputation as a planning and environment lawyer working on the full range of planning and environmental issues on complex projects across a range of industry sectors including commercial, retail, residential, retirement and industrial developments.
Felicity is Vice-President of the NSW Environmental Planning Law Association (EPLA) and will be based in Sydney.
Joining the Melbourne team, Jillian Button is a multi-disciplinary planning and environmental specialist with a focus on property development, water and waste issues and infrastructure planning.
'Given our very strong pipeline of work on government projects, major infrastructure opportunities and a range of development opportunities, increasing our Environment & Planning team's depth and breadth made good business sense.
'Clients really value specialised advice on complex planning matters. Both Felicity and Jillian have that specialist expertise and enhance the offering of our Environment and Planning team,' said Head of Projects and Development, Emma Warren.
Felicity joins Allens from Norton Rose Fulbright, having started her career at Allens, and Jillian from Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Both partners commence in January 2018.
