Allens has advised a fund managed by BlackRock in relation to the sale for more than $125 million of Perth's Optima Centre to two separate funds managed by the Charter Hall Group.
The Optima Centre, located just outside Perth CBD, was completed in 2010, and the fund acquired it in about 2013.
The A-grade suburban office complex is leased to blue-chip tenants, including the WA state government, which occupies more than 80 per cent of the space. Other major tenants Canon Australia and building company ABN Group occupy most of the rest of the space.
'We are delighted to have supported our client, a German fund managed by BlackRock, in the sale of the Optima Centre, which is a significant transaction in the WA market,' said lead Partner Victoria Holthouse.
'We also enjoyed working closely with our alliance partner, Linklaters, to advise on the German aspects of the transaction.
'This transaction builds on Allens' experience and profile in the WA property market, which is now showing signs of recovery after a tough few years during the mining downturn.
'It has been a pleasure to work with the team at BlackRock.'
