Allens has advised Woodside Energy Ltd on its gas sale and purchase agreement with Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers Pty Ltd for the supply of domestic pipeline gas for a term of 20 years.
The long-term, high-volume gas sale and purchase agreement will underpin the development of Perdaman's proposed urea plant on the Burrup Peninsula near Karratha, Western Australia.
Under the agreement, Woodside will provide Perdaman with approximately 125 terajoules of gas per day, sourced primarily from Woodside's proposed Scarborough development. This is estimated to be approximately 12 per cent of Western Australia's current gas demand.
The Allens team consisted of Tracey Greenaway (Partner) and Jacqui Rowell (Managing Associate).
'We are pleased to have advised Woodside on this significant gas sale and purchase agreement, which will support Woodside's development ambitions and secure its future as a leading gas supplier in Western Australia for coming decades,' said Partner Tracey Greenaway.
