Allens has advised AvidSys Pty Ltd (AvidSys) and Avid Resources (WA) Pty Ltd on the acquisition of RCR Tomlinson Group's (RCR Tomlinson) (in administration) resources, power and water businesses.
AvidSys is an international group of businesses with operations across a range of sectors including metals and mining, construction and infrastructure development, industrial automation, property and software development. In Australia, AvidSys' portfolio includes REMSAFE, an established industry leader in remote isolation technology, and other mining investments.
'We were delighted to advise AvidSys on the acquisition of these businesses. As the company's most significant Australian investment to date, the transaction constitutes a key aspect of its global strategy of providing a vertically integrated service across all its business units,' said lead Partner Jodi Reinmuth.
'AvidSys is a leader in mining investment and operations management and aims to continue to deliver on RCR Tomlinson's longstanding customer base. The acquisition also secures the jobs of around 150 RCR Tomlinson employees,' she said.
The businesses have been branded AVID Resources and will specialise in structural mechanical piping, electrical instrumentation and water.
