Allens has advised rooftop solar developer Green Peak Energy in relation to an investment by CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM) through its private infrastructure team.
CBRE IM's investment will be used to fund new rooftop solar PV and energy storage projects and Green Peak Energy's working capital requirements.
'We are delighted to have advised Green Peak Energy on this milestone transaction for the business, and look forward to the exciting expansion of its footprint in the Australian market. The transaction reflects the significant interest we are seeing for investment opportunities in the renewables sector, as institutional investors increasingly turn their focus to ESG-driven strategies,' said lead Partner Jessica Choong.
'Having been involved with Green Peak Energy since its inception, we are particularly delighted to have partnered with Green Peak Energy throughout the evolution and growth of its business model and on this transaction. Congratulations to the Green Peak Energy team and CBRE IM on such a terrific outcome,' added Green Peak Energy Relationship Partner and Allens' Head of Project Finance, Michael Ryan.
Formed in 2017, Green Peak Energy is a leading provider in Australia of behind-the-meter and rooftop solar solutions to commercial and industrial customers. CBRE IM is a leading global real assets investment management firm with $133.1 billion in assets under management (as of 30 September 2021).
