Allens assists AGL establish first renewable future fund

Key adviser: Anna Collyer
Energy Private Capital

Allens has worked with leading integrated energy company, AGL Energy Limited (AGL), to help establish Australia's first unlisted A$1 billion renewable energy fund – called the Powering Australian Renewables Fund (PARF).

Joining AGL in the PARF is QIC, on behalf of its clients the Future Fund and those invested in the QIC Global Infrastructure Fund, as its equity partner. The Fund will make finance available for investments in large scale renewable projects across Australia.

Anna Collyer, lead partner, said being part of helping establish such an innovative investment vehicle was an exciting project for the Allens team.

'It has been very rewarding to be part of the project.

'The Fund has set a target of 1,000 MW of capacity and this will be achieved by investments in a mix of renewable technologies across Australia.

'The Allens team has included a mix of energy and funds lawyers,' Anna said.

The Fund launches on Wednesday.
