About Tim Allen

Tim represents many of the most valuable brands in Australia.  He advises local and foreign clients in relation to all aspects of brand management including the selection of new brands, the entry of existing brands into new markets, registering brands and protecting brand equity through action against competitors, brand exploitation through licensees, global portfolio maintenance and global trade mark watches.  Tim also advises clients on issues arising under the Copyright Act and the Designs Act.  In addition to his advisory work, Tim is very active drafting commercial agreements relating to trade marks, copyright and registered designs.

Tim has extensive experience in preparing submissions and evidence for trade mark matters, both in Australia and around the world.  He is also an experienced advocate in opposition proceedings and other matters before the Australian Trade Marks Office and has represented clients in a number of high profile cases, including the largest set of opposition proceedings in Australian trade mark history.

Understanding clients' businesses and anticipating opportunities and problems, Tim serves as a trusted advisor to key decision-makers across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters.
