About Harry Beardall

Harry specialises in M&A in the energy, industrials and resources sectors, with a focus on energy transition matters and, in particular, M&A activity in renewables, industrial decarbonisation, clean tech and critical minerals. His expertise encompasses public and private M&A, including competitive sale processes, complex corporate carve-outs, equity investments and joint venture arrangements.

Based in Sydney, he has also previously worked in London, New York and Hong Kong.

Energy
  • Neoen: on the proposed sale of its Victorian renewable energy portfolio to HMC Capital Limited.
  • Renewable energy developers: including Goldwind, ACEN, RATCH and FRV, on various M&A, joint venture and corporate restructure transactions.
  • Zenith Energy: on its $250 million acquisition by Pacific Equity Partners Limited and Apex, by way of scheme of arrangement.
Industrials
  • Fletcher Building: on the sale of Tradelink, its Australia plumbing supplies and distribution business, to Metal Manufactures Pty Limited; and the sale of Rocla, its pipes and concrete business in Australia, to CPE Capital.
  • Norske Skog: on the proposed sale of its Australian business, including the Boyer paper mill, to Boyer Capital Pty Ltd.
  • Platinum Equity: on the acquisition of the JELD-WEN Australasia windows, doors and related building products business from JELD-WEN Holding, Inc.
  • Viva Energy: on multiple M&A transactions, including its acquisition of LyondellBasell Australia, a polymer manufacturer and distributor.
  • Macquarie Asset Management: on the divestment of One Rail Australia to Aurizon.

  • Whitehaven Coal: on its acquisition of the Daunia and Blackwater metallurgical coal mines from BHP Group and Mitsubishi Development.
  • Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers: on its proposed JV and farm-in arrangement with Ora Banda Mining, in relation to lithium and other minerals on the Davyhurst tenement package in WA.
