About Greg Lawson
Greg is a Managing Associate in the firm’s corporate department, specialising in the area of mergers, acquisitions and capital markets.
Greg's work is primarily focussed on financial sponsor clients where he provides strategic advice to both Australian and off-shore organisations, including private companies and private equity funds. He advises on a wide range of M&A transactions including share and asset sales, corporate restructures and joint ventures. Greg has also spent time on secondment in the London office of Goldman Sachs where he worked for the principal investments division.
Greg's relevant experience (including while at a leading international law firm in London) includes advising:
- Advent International – on the acquisition of payment systems business Transaction Services Group, and its bolt-on acquisition of MyXplor.
- Hg Capital – on the acquisition of Zenith Investment Partners from 5V Capital.
- Livingbridge – on the acquisition of Everlight Radiology from Intermediate Capital Group.
- 360biolabs – advised the Burnet Institute and management shareholders on the sale of 360biolabs to BioAgilytix Labs.
- BGH Capital – on the acquisition of Healius' medical centres and dental clinics business.
- GoldenTree Asset Management, Avenue Capital and Goldman Sachs International –on its $500 million disposal of various Travelodge hotel sites.
- Blackstone – on the $440 million disposal of healthcare services provider in Independent Clinical Services to TowerBrook Capital Partners LP.
- TA Associates – on the acquisition of Honan Insurance Group.
- Canyon Partners and Bain Capital – on the $1 billion joint venture sale of QHotels portfolio to Aprirose.
- Livingbridge– on the acquisition of Waste Services Group from The Riverside Company, The Silverfern Group and other shareholders.
- QIC – on its successful bid for Evolution Healthcare.
- The British Land Company Plc – on the $80m acquisition of a multi-led freehold retail site in Ealing, London.
- PZ Cussons – on the sale of the five:am yoghurt business to Barambah Organics, a portfolio business of Tanarra Capital.
- TA Associates – on the acquisition of interests in Betashares.
- Carlyle Group – on the acquisition of Calastone Ltd.
- Hg Capital – on its minority investment in Hyperion Insurance Group.
- Advent International – on the acquisition of Legend Club Management Systems.
- Canaccord Genuity Group – on the acquisition of Patersons Securities Limited.
- Nucleus Network – advised an underbidder as part of the sale process by Crescent Capital.
- Goldman Sachs International – on its $2.3 billion joint venture with Wellcome Trust, including a portfolio of 23,500 student accommodation beds in 25 towns across the UK.
- Highcross Group Limited – on the $1 billion sale of real estate assets of Highcross Regional U.K. Partners and Highcross Regional U.K. Partners III to Northwood Investors.
- Goldman Sachs Asian Special Situations Group – on the sale of its stake in Evolution Healthcare to Pacific Equity Partners.
