About David Seeto
David is a registered Trans-Tasman patent attorney with experience across a wide range of technology areas including chemical and process engineering, mining and mineral processing, manufacturing technology, building and construction, and materials science.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical and Biomolecular) (Hons I) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Sydney, and a Masters of Intellectual Property from the University of Technology, Sydney.
David has extensive experience with drafting and prosecuting patent applications both locally and overseas, conducting freedom-to-operate searches, and advising on infringement and validity matters.
Prior to joining Allens, David worked as an in-house patent attorney for a multinational engineering firm, which involved managing a global patent portfolio, coordinating freedom-to-operate with technology managers and legal managers, and developing and implementing both broad and technology-specific IP strategies.
As a result, David approaches his practice with a strong commercial focus and appreciates the value in practical IP strategies and clear attorney-client communication.
