About Rebecca Sheehy
Rebecca is an investment funds lawyer who focuses on fund and capital partnership formations, ongoing fund operations, advising investors on fund investments and co-investments in Australia and offshore and advising on Australian financial services licensing.
Rebecca regularly advises both sponsors and investors regarding funds across a range of alternative asset classes, including real estate, private equity and venture capital, infrastructure and energy, as well as advising on funds-related M&A.
Before joining Allens, Rebecca worked at Linklaters in the Investment Funds team in both London and New York.
Rebecca's recent experience includes advising:
- Goodman Group, Mirvac, Logos, Starwood Capital, Grosvenor Group and Cadillac Fairview in relation to the establishment of, or investment in, a broad range of capital partnerships
- A broad range of Australian and offshore superannuation funds, sovereign wealth funds and family offices, including Hostplus, APG and Westpac on Australian and offshore fund investments and co-investments, with a particular interest in Australian venture capital funds, including acting for investors in relation to their investments in venture capital funds raised by Reinventure, AirTree, Five V, Allegro and Taronga
- ESR – on the establishment and ongoing operation of the ESR Australia Logistics Partnership, ESR Australia Logistics Partnership II, ESR Australia Logistics Partnership III, ESR Australia Development Partnership and ESR Australia Development Partnership II, as well as the acquisition structure for ESR and GIC's successful bid for the $2.9b Blackstone portfolio
- GPT Group – on assuming management of the $2.8b UniSuper direct real estate mandate, the establishment and ongoing operation of its $2b capital partnership with QuadReal, as well as ongoing management and compliance matters for the GPT Wholesale Office Fund and GPT Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund
- Large superannuation fund - on numerous investments in Australian and offshore funds and participation in various consortium and direct investments in infrastructure
- Pacific Equity Partners – in relation to the establishment of PEP's funds across buyout, infrastructure and credit strategies, including Fund VI, the Secure Assets Fund II, Capital Solutions and the Smart Metering Continuation Fund
- Global Infrastructure Partners – on the establishment of GIP Australia Fund I and GIP Australia Fund II and advised on investments by GIP-managed funds in transport and energy assets
- Potentum Partners – on a range of fund of funds investments and co-investments
- TCorp – on its acquisition of an interest in Open Fiber
- Investa Property Group – on general compliance matters and the ongoing operation of the Investa Commercial Property Fund
