About Dang Vu
Dang Vu is a Senior Associate in Allens’ Ho Chi Minh City office. Dang has 10 years' experience (PQE) practicing law in a wide range of fields, with a focus on banking and project finance, capital market (domestic and international bonds) and public M&A. He is admitted as a lawyer to the Ho Chi Minh City bar, Vietnam and earned his L.L.M with distinction at University of Sussex, UK. He speaks fluent Vietnamese and English.
His recent experience includes advising:
- International Finance Corporation (IFC): on numerous financing transactions in Vietnam, including
- US$100m loan to, and US$75m green and blue bonds issued by, SeABank
- US$57m loan to finance two onshore wind power projects of REE Corporation
- US$700m bilateral loan to finance the expansion of a production facility in Bac Ninh province and the greenfield production project in Nghe An province of Goertek.
- GuarantCo Ltd: on its guarantee in relation to VND 1,000 billion green bonds issued by IDI Corporation, a leading seafood manufacturer, being the first green bond issued by a non-financial corporation
- Deutsche Bank:
- US$300m loan to Vinfast Singapore
- US$81m loan provided to Lodgis Hospitality Holdings to fund the acquisition of a majority stake in Ho Tram Strip Resort in Vietnam
- US$140m loan to finance the Baring’s acquisition of a minority stake in the CrownX Corporation (a Masan's affiliate operating the Winmart retail store chain).
- Vingroup, Vinhomes and Vinfast: international investors and lenders (including Deutsche Bank, HSBC, BNP Paribas, JPMorgan, UBS), on various international bonds and financing transactions relating to Vingroup and its subsidiaries
- BIM Energy: on a US$251m loan by commercial banks to finance BIM’s solar power projects
- Siam Commercial Bank: multi-billion dollar loan provided to the project company constructing the Long Son Petrochemical Plant project in Vietnam
- MayBank and group of lenders: US$135m cross-border syndicated loan for Viettel Global to finance its working capital and investments in its subsidiaries in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar
- TPG Capital: US$90m loan to TPG to finance its acquisition of a majority stake in VAS (an international school system in Vietnam)
- Heineken Vietnam: on its acquisition of Carlsberg’s brewery in Vung Tau
- Abbott Pharmaceuticals: on its acquisition of Glomed Pharmaceutical and Domesco and various strategic M&A transactions and corporate matters in Vietnam
- Ho Tram Investments Limited: on its divesture from the Sanctuary resort project in Vung Tau province.
