About Ida Widnersson PhD
Ida is a registered patent attorney in Australia and New Zealand with expertise in physical chemistry and materials science. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) with honours, a Master of Science in the area of agricultural sciences, a Doctor of Philosophy in the area of materials science, and a Master of Intellectual Property Law.
Ida specialises in the chemistry and materials science patent subject matter areas, with extensive experience in the areas of pharmaceuticals and agrichemicals.
Ida's patent practice experience includes:
- drafting provisional and complete patent applications in the area of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics
- prosecuting Australian and New Zealand patent applications for large international pharmaceutical companies as well as instructing Southeast Asian agents on behalf of said companies
- managing large global patent portfolios with multi-generational patent families including developing prosecution strategies for said patent families
- preparing freedom-to-operate advice for local clients.
Ida's technology experience includes:
- pharmaceutical compounds, formulations and methods of medical treatments using such compounds
- synthesis and characterisation of inorganic and polymeric materials.
Ida is also a member of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) and the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI).
